Located in Celanova, 25 kms from Ourense.
The Monastery is the main monument of the town. It was founded by San Rosendo in 936.
Since the 19th century it has been state property.
It was also a prison during the Civil War, among the prisoners was the local writer Celso Emilio Ferreiro.
Currently a part of the Monastery is used as City Hall and Institute, Café.
Declared a National Monument.
